17th Annual Heritage Homes Tour

Central Addition: Where Are They Now?

October 6, 2019

11:00am to 3:00pm

About this Event

Preservation Idaho’s 17th Annual Heritage Homes Tour will be a little different this year and will highlight the historic Central Addition. They will include the history of the neighborhood, as it looks today with both the old and the new, and will include a private touring of the three homes that were moved in 2015 to avoid demolition.

This year’s Heritage Homes Tour will give patrons the unique opportunity to see how things have turned out for the three houses that remain in Boise: the Fowler House (completely remodeled and currently up for sale), the Jones House (renovated and occupied by Mr & Mrs Frank Eld), and Woods/Zimmer House, (now The Sturiale Place Specialty Café & Gift Shop). Each of the new owners have dedicated an immense amount of time and love into renovating and restoring historic details.

The tour will include access to each of these homes, as well as CSHQA Architects, formerly a historic warehouse repurposed into a state-of-the-art, LEED-certified office space and Ming Studios, formerly a horse stable that now promotes international art residencies. Both of these businesses and The Sturiale Place, are closed on Sunday and will only be opened to tour attendees.

There will only be 300 tickets available for this year’s tour, so click here for more details and tickets!
